Black Masterbatch
Black masterbatch is a color masterbatch raw material produced by processes such as carbon black, carrier, and additive injection molding. This product is environmentally friendly, odorless, and pollution-free. Stable color, good toughness, and low cost. Suitable for most thermal resin injection molding, granulation, pressing plate, blown film, wire, pipe and other processes
Can different types of resins be used in black masterbatch?
1、Common carrier resins for black masterbatch
Various resins are available to fit different plastic substrates:
- Polyolefins: PE, PP (most widely used for PE/PP products)
- Elastomers: TPU, TPR/TPE (for soft elastic goods)
- PVC, PS, ABS, PLA, PBAT (for corresponding special plastics)
2、Why different resins are adopted
Carrier resin determines compatibility, processing temperature and fluidity. Using the same or similar resin as your raw plastic avoids streaks, poor fusion, blooming or degraded mechanical properties.
3、Important notes
- Do not mix mismatched carrier masterbatch arbitrarily. For example, PP-based black masterbatch is not ideal for high-temperature ABS processing.
- Multi-purpose universal black masterbatch (usually PE-based) works for general mixed polyolefin products, but performance is inferior to dedicated grades.
- For high-temperature processing, select high-temperature resistant carrier resins to prevent decomposition.
