Black Masterbatch
Black masterbatch is a color masterbatch raw material produced by processes such as carbon black, carrier, and additive injection molding. This product is environmentally friendly, odorless, and pollution-free. Stable color, good toughness, and low cost. Suitable for most thermal resin injection molding, granulation, pressing plate, blown film, wire, pipe and other processes
How does the choice of resin affect the performance of the black masterbatch?
1、Compatibility with base plastic
Matched resin blends fully with the substrate, no streaks, peeling or poor bonding. Mismatched resin causes uneven color, surface defects and reduced mechanical strength.
2、Heat resistance
Different resins have distinct heat tolerance. High-temperature resistant carriers (e.g. ABS, PC) suit high-heat molding and prevent carbon black degradation or yellowing. Low-temperature resins like PE/PLA will decompose at high temperatures.
3、Processing fluidity
Resin melt flow rate (MFR) influences feeding and mixing. High-fluidity carriers help carbon black disperse better and make production smoother; low-fluidity types may cause blockage or poor dispersion.
4、Dispersion of carbon black
Resin polarity and molecular weight affect pigment wetting. Resins with good wetting ability break up carbon black agglomerates effectively, delivering higher blackness and fewer fine spots.
5、Migration & blooming resistance
Compatible carrier locks carbon black inside the material. Inappropriate resin leads to pigment migration, surface blooming or staining during use.
6、Final product properties
The carrier also impacts the finished product’s hardness, toughness, elasticity and weather resistance. For elastomer products (TPU/TPR), using corresponding elastomer carriers keeps softness and elasticity intact.
