2. Working Principle
Ordinary plastic surfaces are hydrophobic. Water condenses into tiny scattered droplets and forms fog, blocking visibility.
Anti-fog agents migrate to the film surface, turning it hydrophilic. Water spreads into a uniform thin water film instead of droplets, so no fog appears.
3. Main Components
- Carrier resin: Mainly PE, PP, matching film materials
- Core ingredient: Anti-fog agent (surfactant-based)
- Auxiliaries: Dispersants, lubricants, stabilizers
4. Key Advantages
- Effectively eliminate fog, maintain good transparency and visibility.
- Prevent water droplets from dripping, avoid damaging packaged goods or crops.
- Good compatibility with polyolefins; little impact on film strength and processing.
- Easy to use, stable performance during long-term use.
5. Main Classifications & Applications
- Internal anti-fog masterbatch (most common): Added during production.
- Food packaging films: Fresh-keeping bags, fruit/vegetable packaging
- Agricultural films: Greenhouse films, mulch films
- Cold storage packaging, disposable transparent containers
- Short-term / Long-term grades: Choose according to service life; long-term type for greenhouse films for lasting anti-fog effect.
6. Usage Notes
- Mainly for PE/PP films; not suitable for most engineering plastics.
- Typical dosage: 1%–5%; excessive addition may cause surface stickiness or bloom.
- Match with anti-block masterbatch if both anti-fog and anti-sticking are needed.
- High temperature or long-term outdoor use requires high-temperature and weather-resistant grades.
