2. Main Components

1、Carrier resin

Matched with base plastic: PE, PP, EVA, ABS, PLA, etc., ensures good compatibility and uniform dispersion.

2、Core toughening agents (elastomers)

• POE (polyolefin elastomer): For PP/PE polyolefin products
• SEBS / SBS: For PS, HIPS, TPE transparent or low-temperature resistant goods
• EPDM / EVA: Low-cost flexible toughener for films, pipes
• MBS / acrylic core-shell modifier: For transparent ABS, PC, PS products

3. Auxiliaries: Compatibilizer, dispersant, anti-oxidant, lubricant

3. Core Advantages

1. Greatly improves impact resistance, solves brittle cracking, screw bursting and low-temperature fracture problems.
2. Maintains original rigidity, gloss and processing fluidity of plastic (balanced stiffness & toughness).
3. Pellet form, dust-free, easy automatic feeding with accurate mixing ratio.
4. Wide adaptability for injection, extrusion, blow molding and film blowing.
5. Reduces production cost: Can partially replace high-toughness expensive resins like ABS.
6. Special grades support outdoor anti-aging, transparent, food-contact and biodegradable plastics.

4. Common Classifications by Carrier

1、PP-based toughening masterbatch

With POE as toughener; used for PP injection parts, non-woven fabrics, automobile interior, turnover boxes, battery shells. Solves PP brittle at low temperature.

2、PE-based toughening masterbatch

EVA/POE system; for plastic films, agricultural mulch, HDPE pipes, blow-molded containers, improves puncture resistance.

3、PS / ABS toughening masterbatch

SBS/MBS core-shell type; for disposable tableware, home appliance housings, toys, avoids cracking during assembly.

4、Biodegradable PLA/PBAT toughening masterbatch

Special bio-elastomer carrier; fixes PLA’s extreme brittleness for compostable bags and tableware.

5、Universal toughening masterbatch (EVA carrier)

Suitable for mixed polyolefin recycled plastic with low appearance requirements.

6. Key Usage Tips

1. Select masterbatch with the same compatible carrier resin as your base plastic to avoid delamination and poor surface.
2. Adding dosage normally ranges from 5%–20%, adjust according to required toughness.
3. For outdoor products, choose weather-resistant SEBS grades instead of ordinary SBS.
4. Transparent plastic products must adopt core-shell MBS toughening masterbatch to avoid haze.
